GitData Archive Recognized by OpenDOAR and Integrated with Zenodo

Last update: 2025/02/28

We are excited to announce that GitData Archive has been officially recognized by OpenDOAR, the leading global directory of open access repositories. This recognition enhances our credibility and ensures that GitData Archive is indexed as a trusted repository for academic and scientific preprints. Being listed in OpenDOAR improves discoverability and strengthens our commitment to open science.

To further support researchers and ensure the longevity of their work, GitData Archive is now fully integrated with Zenodo. Every preprint uploaded to GitData Archive will also be stored on Zenodo, offering:

  • Better visibility – Zenodo is widely indexed and used by researchers worldwide.
  • DOI citation tracking – Each preprint will have a DOI, allowing for accurate citations and persistent linking
  • Supreme availability – If either GitData Archive or Zenodo experiences downtime, the preprint remains accessible through the other platform.

Why Zenodo?

Zenodo is an open-access repository developed by CERN and funded by the European Commission. It provides a secure and permanent archiving solution for research outputs. By integrating with Zenodo, GitData Archive ensures long-term preservation and wider exposure of academic work.

Why DOIs Matter

A DOI (Digital Object Identifier) is a unique, permanent identifier assigned to digital objects like research papers. DOIs ensure reliable access, proper citation tracking, and long-term findability. By assigning DOIs to preprints, GitData Archive enhances the credibility and accessibility of hosted research.

Moving Forward

With OpenDOAR recognition and Zenodo integration, GitData Archive continues to strengthen its position as a trusted preprint repository. We remain dedicated to advancing open science by ensuring research is visible, citable, and permanently accessible.
